Il Tarusc
Stresa Carpugnino:
Between lake Maggiore and Lake Orta emerges Mottarone, on this mountain Tarusc was said to be living here, a half meter tall troll, with red hair, misanthrope and afflicted by a strong shyness. He has got only one passion: umbrellas. All the villages near Mottarone became the homeland of the umbrella makers and Carpugnino was its centre.
Children used to start learning how to make umbrellas when they were 7 as they were brought in January by their families to an experienced lusciat (umbrella makers) thanks to a sort of public job centre in the square of Carpugnino, where today there is an epigraph : ?on New year’s day to look for a master, without even a penny?.
The accommodation is located in Carpugnino, a small town on the first hills of Lake Maggiore, about 5 km away from the centre of Stresa.
The building is located in the centre of Carpugnino and offers a beautiful view of the Romanesque Church of St. Donato (mentioned in a document bearing the year 1169).
The building was fully renovated in 2008.
The apartment is a two rooms apartment of about 55 sqm consists of: living room with sofa bed (1 square and a half), kitchen, double bedroom, bathroom with shower.
In the apartment can sleep up to No 4 people:
- 2 persons in double room
- 2 people in the living room.
Equipment: TV, kitchen with 4 gas cookers, electric oven.
Pets Allowed small pets.
